Capacity Building

Building its member foundations’ capacities is the core program of AF. Given the significant reduction in the traditional fund sources of foundations, courses in resource generation skills, particularly creative fundraising and partnering with business and local government are newest in the AF line-up. Institution building, finance and management courses continue to be AF mainstays. Cross visits with other members’ organizations, “Big Sister- Little Sister” buddy systems and member consultations are other modes of learning offered by AF. And as AF continues to evolve with the world of development, so will its line-up of capacity-building programs.
