Building on the Foundations

While the 21st century holds new hope for mankind, so does it pose challenges. Progress has its price, one of which is the increasing complexity of the world we live in. Now more than ever, government, non-government, and even business organizations are pooling resources in preparation for the big millennial leap. Collaboration is the way of the future, something AF had begun to do three decades ago. Believing in the power of shared resources, AF is determined to continue building the capacities of its member foundations not only to assist in their individual growth, but also in the development of the network.

As a network of more than a hundred foundations, AF has the infrastructure in place to engage in collaborative work. However, what makes AF truly unique is the very purpose which drives the organization to serve – its commitment to enable its member foundations in nation-building. At present, AF member foundations provide a broad range of services to millions of Filipinos nationwide. Day after day, communities are moving towards self-reliance. Families are whole and healthy. Children are in school. Thanks to the helping hands extended to them by AF member foundations.

From the overcrowded cities of Metro Manila, to the seaside villages of Basilan, AF member foundations are reaching out to communities in need. And by enabling its member foundations and building their capacities to serve, the Association of Foundations touches these same communities, helping them transform into solid building blocks of a nation renewed, strong, and self-reliant.

In the same manner that AF is the mother of institutions engaged in philanthropy, so does it exist to generously give to its member foundations the support they need to carry on their missions.
